We dedicate this year’s festival to the beauty, grace and genius that was Ornette Coleman, who left this plane recently. For everything we love to do at Zula Presents, along with all the musicians featured in our festival and series, we all owe Ornette (& Cecil) a huge debt for playing what they heard, despite the blowback and difficulties.
